Michael Lydon will go to the International Whistling Convention in Louisburg, North Carolina April 19 - 22 to perform with the best whistlers in the world.
Lydon will compete in two divisions: pop, in which he'll be accompanied by pianist Ellen Mandel, and allied arts, in which he'll play guitar and sing as well as whistle.
To prepare, Lydon is practicing every day and is being coached by Steve Herbst, a whistling world champion.
"I love to whistle," says Lydon, "but I've never met many other whistlers. This is a great opportunity to improve my skill and to introduce myself to the world of whistlers."
