The Mandel & Lydon band will play its friendly brand of pop-jazz at the 10th Street Fair Saturday September 6 from noon to 5 pm. Everybody welcome!!

This will be the twentieth year the Mandel & Lydon band will play the annual East Village event, sponsored by the 10th Street Block Association. "We love playing the street fair every year," says Lydon, "because we see so many of our friends and neighbors!"

This year, too bad, Ellen Mandel won't be in the band--she'll be playing a Patsy Cline show at the Peterborough Players, a summer theater in New Hampshire. Band regulars, bassist Dave Hofstra, drummer Rudy Lawless, and guitarist Lydon will be joined by newcomers tenor sax player Peter Brainin, and pianist Art Hirahara.

"It's a long afternoon," says Lydon, "but the band really get down into the music--I look forward to this Saturday every year."
